About The Tournament Weekend

Join us for our 13th Canadian soccer tournament on August 22nd, our 7v7 Setanta Vancouver Cup. Soccer Resort is celebrating it's return to Vancouver following our first Vancouver event just this Spring, by giving away one hotel and tournament team weekend in Las Vegas to our December 4/5 tournament.

At our tournament after-party, all winning teams in Men's Divisions and Women's Divisions will be put in a hat (usually approximately 5-8 teams), and the team that wins the weekend in Las Vegas will be drawn. All other winning teams win Soccer Resort travel money that can be used for hotel and tournament packages.

Please note we'll have several different divisions A, B and C for different standards as well as over 30's

In another fun exciting development, Setanta Sports Canada will be joining us with a selection of complimentary soccer channel subscriptions and giveaways.

And don't forget if you play in the tournament, you might see your team on the Setanta channel a few weeks later before an English Premiership match - that's right - Soccer Resort is the only tournament series that gets your team photo on national T.V.!

Vancouver is a city that has the best of both worlds, a multicultural metropolis with a feast of attractions and events set beneath a cityskape dominated by the North Shore Mountains.

We’ll be staying at a hotel centrally located in the city so that all that the city has to offer is on your doorstep, as well as being close to the tournament fields.

Prices for the Vancouver tournament start at $219.

The Soccer Resort is extremely excited to have local teams join our national series of tournaments. Play, yell, compete, or shake hands against teams from all over the U.S., Canada, Europe, and overseas – after-all it’s nice to play against some new teams. And if you win a top or consolation division, you’ll win up to $1000 of credit towards one of our travel tournaments, such as Las Vegas, Costa Rica, Miami South Beach, Hawaii, Iceland, Ireland, or London.

Soccer Tournament Details

We expect a large turn out this summer following the success of previous Canadian tournaments held in 2008 with teams from leagues all across the United States and Canada joining us.

The tournament will be taking place on great artificial turf fields at Burnaby Lakes in Vancouver, BC. On the soccer side you get:

• 7v7 soccer against classy opposition
• Four games guaranteed
• 30 minutes per game
• Complimentary souvenir jerseys for travel teams
• Soccer travel prizes galore
• Trophies for the winners and medals for the runners-up
• Registration fee is $399 for British Columbian teams. That's just $28 per person on a 14 person roster...
• Travel teams outside British Columbia are eligible for cheap Hotel and Tournament packages.

Early Bird closes July 22 and the price increases by $50. The absolute closing date for registration is August 16 .

• There will be two Coed divisions with 4 men and 3 women on the field. You can have more women, but not more men.
• There will be four Men's divisions - Men's OPEN, Men's B, Men's Over 30's and Masters.There will be 4 Women's Divisions - A and B, C, and over 30's.
• The field locations is Burnby Lakes in Vancouver, BC.

Soccer Resort is not only a vacation weekend - but winners, and runners-up in the top divisions and lower level consolation cups always get Soccer Resort Bucks as a prize. This is not  actual money, but more like a credit or a discount on hotel and tournament packages for your next Travel  tournament. We don't pretend it's like winning the lottery, but many of our teams appreciate that we are making further trips cheaper. These prizes are for travel to most but not all tournaments. More info

Whatever kind of trip you wish to make, Vancouver will certainly be able to cater your needs. Whether it's hiking in the Coast Mountains or taking a peaceful walk along the picturesque beaches overlooking the pacific ocean before enjoying the wide variety of boutiques and coffee houses that litter the town centre. And then finish this off with a meal at one of the restaurants or bistros on the top of Grouse Mountain.
