About The Tournament Weekend
Join us for our 7th annual tournament in Montreal on May 29 and 30, which is the Memorial Day weekend, for a 6v6 soccer tournament. Montreal’s one of the largest and most unique cities in all of Canada with both French and English speakers and culture weaved throughout. Going by personal experience Montreal is also one of the friendliest cities you’ll ever visit, the locals always in a great mood and are incredibly receptive of the many tourists who frequent their city. The cities also got a great nightlife with bars, clubs and even casino’s to take a spin at.
The Soccer Resort is extremely excited to have local teams join our national series of tournaments. Play, yell, compete, or shake hands against teams from all over the U.S., Canada, Europe, and overseas – after-all it’s nice to play against some new teams. And if you win a top or consolation division, you’ll win up to $500 of credit towards one of our travel tournaments, such as Las Vegas, Costa Rica, Miami South Beach, Hawaii, Iceland, Ireland, or London.

Soccer Tournament Details
We expect a large turn out in 2010 following the success of our last visit to Montreal in 2008 with teams from many leagues across the United States and Canada joining us.
The location of the tournament is The Soccerplexe Catalogna, where we’ll be playing both indoor and outdoor on some of the best turf fields in the Canada. On the soccer side you get:
- 6v6 soccer against classy opposition
- Five games guaranteed over two days
- 30 minutes per game
- Complimentary souvenir jerseys for travel teams
- Soccer travel prizes galore
- Trophies for the winners and medals for the runners-up
- There will be two Coed divisions with 3 men and 3 women on each team. You can have more women, but not more men.
- There will be five Men’s divisions – Men’s OPEN, Men’s B, Men’s Over 30’s Men's Over 40's, and Masters (Over 50)
- There will be three Women’s divisions – Women’s A, Women’s B and Women’s Over 30’s.

Tournament Prizes
Soccer Resort is not only a vacation weekend - but winners, and runners-up in the top divisions and lower level consolation cups always get Soccer Resort Bucks as a prize. This is not actual money, but more like a credit or a discount on hotel and tournament packages for your next Travel tournament. We don’t pretend it's like winning the lottery, but many of our teams appreciate that we are making further trips cheaper. These prizes are for travel to most but not all tournaments. More info

Things to do
Montreal’s a truly wonderful city with tons of stuff to do. Gambling’s legal and the drinking age is only 18, which should give some impression into the entertainment you’ll have if you take advantage of the cities nightlife.
And if those ideas don’t particularly appeal to you don’t worry, there’s much more to do. Montreal’s French history and culture mean there are plenty of museums worth visiting in addition to fine European style restaurants to enjoy. There’s also water sports, golf courses, white water rafting and tons of other active things to do if you desire.

Tournament Hotel for Weekend
For this tournament we’ll be heading back to the four star Holiday Inn Hotel perfectly located in downtown Montreal that sits just a few minutes from the Boulevard restaurants and boutiques of St. Catherine Street and St. Lawrence Boulevard. It is also set beside Old Montreal, providing easy access to McGill University, Bell Centre, Notre Dame Basilica, Olympic Stadium, Casino de Montreal, La Ronde Amusement Park and Mount Royal.
