About The Tournament Weekend

Fasten your seatbelts! The Soccer Resort is returning to the D.C. area - come play in our Beltway soccer tournament on Saturday and Sunday July 11/12, 2009 at a new location in Sterling, Virginia (Loudon County).

Men's and Women's tournaments will be played on Saturday July 11 and Coed will be played on Sunday July 12 (with new 5:3 male:female ratio rules) .

Win at either our NYC, Boston or DC tournament this summer and we’ll give you $100 off entry to our brand new Atlantic City Beach Soccer Tournament on August 15 this year. You’ve won at home, now take the team on the road and play against the best teams from the East Coast.

Join us and not only will you have a great time on the field, but in a city like D.C. you’ll have a great time off of it as well. We’ll be staying at the Fairview Park Marriott Hotel in Church Falls, Virginia. Only 10 miles from the nation’s capital it is a short drive into the heart of the city, or any of its many of its notable suburbs. D.C. boasts some of the world’s best museums, monuments and parks, most of which are available at absolutely no cost so they’re definitely worth checking out.

Soccer Tournament Details

Join teams from many leagues across DC such as NVSL, WISL, WAWSL, and CCSL - as well as teams from across the Northeast. We'll have the following 8v8 Soccer tournaments for Adults. Divisions include:

• Men's Soccer Tournaments (Three Divisions Plus 0 40's),
• Women's Soccer Tournaments (3  Divisions - A and B, and O30's)
• Coed Soccer Tournaments (Two Divisions - A and B)

The tournament will be at a new location in Sterling VA (Loudon County).

Tournament Prizes

Soccer Resort is not only a vacation weekend - but winners, and runners-up in the top divisions and lower level consolation cups always get Soccer Resort Bucks as a prize. This is not  actual money, but more like a credit or a discount on hotel and tournament packages for your next Travel  tournament. We don;t pretend it's like winning the lottery, but many of our teams appreciate that we are making further trips cheaper. These prizes are for travel to most but not all tournaments. More info

Things to do

Finding something to do in the nation’s capital is like tapping in a goal from 2 yards out – easy and rewarding. Take trip into the heart of the city and onto the national mall. From there you’ll be within walking distance of The Capitol Building, the Washington Monument, the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, the three war memorials and 8 free museums and art galleries.

Other options include a tour of the Pentagon or a trip into Georgetown or Bethesda for a fantastic dinner in any type of restaurant you can imagine. Take a stroll down U Street and be brought back through time to the days that Jazz was king. There are also a number of shopping centers through out the city to take advantage of. DC is a city packed with entertaining outlets and it’s a trip that’s not to be missed.
