TOURNAMENT UPDATE: IcelandAir now flyies from Toronto to Iceland for this great weekend. Unfortunately, IcelandAir no longer flys from Baltimore. Prices now include drinks and appetizers for Friday and dinner and discount drinks for Saturday night, so prices have increased slightly to compensate for this - which helps you get better value for the dollar by pre-paying meals!

Play the Soccer Resort tournament in Iceland - in the Men's Open, Over 30's or Over 40's division on Saturday, November 1, 2008 and if you bring a team of 12, you'll be paired up with some Premiership stars from the 1990's on your team.

Soccer Tournament Details

OVERVIEW of ICELAND TRIP
Join the Soccer Resort for our fifth annual annual international tournament in Iceland - fly out from New York, Toronto, and Boston on Thursday November 13 and return either Sunday November 16 or Monday November 17! (or even Tuesday, November 18 and so on!). Thanks to the warm waters of the Gulf Stream, coming all the way from Mexico, Iceland enjoys a cool temperate ocean climate as it's fairly mild in winter.

THE STARS
In 2005 and 2006, and 2007 stars attending the tournament were from Liverpool, Manchester United, and Arsenal. Names in the past have included: Ian Rush, Jan Mölby, Mark Walthers, John Wark, Nigel Spackman, Michael Thomas, Bob Boulder GK, Kenny Samson, Tony Woodcock, Perry Groves, David Hillier, Frank Stapleton , Arthur Albiston David May, Paul Parker, Clayton Blackmore, and last but not least Bruce Grobbelaar.  Stay tuned for this year's names - and in the 2007, you'll have one pro per team.

THE VACATION
Play INDOOR 6v6 soccer against teams from across the USA, England, Canada,  as well as teams from Iceland and enjoy a weekend of the legendary Iceland nightlife - as well as optional scenic trips to the gorgeous Iceland scenery including the Blue Lagoon, Geysers, Waterfalls, Fjord's, Volcanic Landscape and an assortment of ecological wonders! And of course, you'll be based in the capital, Reykjavik.

Our 6v6 adult soccer tournament for Men's, Women's and Coed teams takes place on Saturday November 15-  we use a state-of-the art indoor facility - a huge space with field turf galore (The Reykjavík Arena, Iceland's best) with the new, improved field turf. You'll get 8 games x 12 minutes guaranteed.

The games will take place on Saturday morning/afternoon. You will be playing against teams from Iceland, Continental Europe, as well as the United States and Canada. As mentioned above, the facility is one of Iceland's best - the state of the art Iceland arena.

Enjoy the countryside by day, play soccer early evening and enjoy the restaurants and culture by night!

Tournament Prizes

Soccer Resort is not only a vacation weekend - but winners, and runners-up in the top divisions and lower level consolation cups always get Soccer Resort Bucks as a prize. This is not  actual money, but more like a credit or a discount on hotel and tournament packages for your next Travel  tournament. We don;t pretend it's like winning the lottery, but many of our teams appreciate that we are making further trips cheaper. These prizes are for travel to most but not all tournaments. More info

In Iceland, there's no shortage of things to do. Along with our tournament, there's the incredible nightlife, not to mention the geysers, volcanic landscape and mighty blue lagoon.

The Hotel Fron and Hotel Loftleidir are your hotels of choice for this weekend's tournament - right in the center of town, in the thick of the action of Downtown, Central Reykjavík.
